Before you book.
How much is the EV battery health test?
The standalone AVILOO battery health test starts from A$299 incl. GST. We confirm vehicle compatibility and any applicable travel fee before booking.
Do I receive a certificate?
For supported vehicles, you receive the applicable AVILOO digital battery certificate or report generated by the test. The exact content can vary with AVILOO's product and vehicle coverage.
Does the test just read the car's own battery percentage?
No. AVILOO describes its battery certificate as an independent assessment rather than simply relying on the vehicle's own BMS State of Health value.
Can every EV and PHEV be tested?
No. Compatibility varies by make, model and configuration. We confirm AVILOO compatibility from the vehicle details before accepting the booking.
Is this the same as a full EV pre-purchase inspection?
No. This service focuses on the high-voltage battery. A full EV/PHEV pre-purchase inspection assesses the rest of the vehicle according to the package selected.
What is EV battery State of Health (SoH)?
State of Health compares the battery’s current usable capacity with when it was new, usually shown as a percentage. A lower SoH generally means less range per charge. There’s no single “good” number for every EV, because age, kilometres and the model all matter, so we explain your result in context.
Can you test a hybrid battery, like a Prius or Camry Hybrid?
We can test the high-voltage battery in supported plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). Conventional self-charging hybrids, such as most Prius and Camry Hybrid models, aren’t covered by the AVILOO FLASH test. For those cars, a full pre-purchase inspection with a diagnostic scan is the better option.
Is a battery check worth it if the EV is still under warranty?
Often, yes. Battery warranties usually cover defects or capacity loss below a set threshold, and the terms differ by manufacturer. A battery check shows the condition of the battery you’re actually buying, which helps you compare cars and negotiate the price.
Can the result guarantee future battery life?
No. The result is condition evidence at the time of testing. It cannot guarantee future battery lifespan, future degradation or future faults.
